Khalil Beschir, a former racing driver, began his motorsport journey with karting in 1998 in Lebanon and progressed to single-seater racing in 2004. After competing in Formula Renault, Italian Formula 3, and the European F3000 series, he represented Lebanon and Arab world in the A1 Grand Prix from 2005 to 2008.
During this period, he achieved the team’s best finish of eighth place at Durban in 2008 and won the series’ “Development and Testing” award. Following his stint in A1GP, Khalil continued his driving career by working with multiple leading teams and championships on testing and development.
In 2010, Khalil began his successful broadcasting career as Abu Dhabi TV’s F1 and motorsport pundit. When the broadcasting rights shifted to beIN Sports in 2014, he became the network’s F1 analyst and co-commentator. In 2019, when the rights were acquired by MBC Group, he joined MBC Action as Formula 1 co-commentator and analyst. Khalil’s extensive racing experience enriches his commentary, helping to enhance the popularity of Formula 1 in the Middle East and North Africa, particularly among young fans.
Since 2012, Khalil has been involved in multiple F1 and motorsport projects. He has utilised his personal experiences to help develop and grow interest in motorsport throughout the Arab world. In collaboration with the FIA, he has worked to advance education in motorsport and develop programs for young drivers across the MENA region, expanding national schemes into larger, global initiatives.
Currently, Khalil is working with various governments and entities on motorsport development programs and collaborating closely with several drivers and teams in the world of Formula 1 and motorsport.
